Youth Ministries

Youth in the Florida Conference United Church of Christ are vital to our wider church. As such, the Florida Conference offers spiritual resources for faith formation in several areas, among them Conference youth retreats. Our youth are integrated into the life of the wider church by encouraging their participation in the gatherings of the Florida Conference as well as in the national setting of the United Church of Christ.

Youth across the Florida Conference have engaged in faith formation opportunities during our annual Walk on Water and Peace River Youth Retreats, typically in early January and March, respectively, as well as participating in National Youth Events and at General Synod gatherings, where thousands of youth are in attendance.

It is our hope and our vision that youth in the United Church of Christ in Florida will embrace the greatest command of Jesus Christ, which calls upon us all "to love neighbor, self and God." We hope that Jesus' words inform their faith journey toward a more just earth in the quest for peace, and we pray that our youth are imagining and believing that God is still speaking in their lives, while trusting that the Holy Spirit remains active in the ways we all live out our faith here on earth, for all of God's children.

As a gathered community of faith who covenant together, we believe in supporting the safety of all youth and as such encourage you to read the Safe Church Guidelines and use them within all ministries regarding youth in your congregations.
