Florida UCC WomenHappy and Blessed 2018

Women of the Florida Conference!!!!

It has been a wonderful and fulfilling time serving as your president. I have had the opportunity to generate new friendships, strengthen old friendships and get to know plenty of the women who make up the Florida United Church of Christ Women. It is with sincere gratitude that I thank you for this opportunity. This will be my last address to you as your president, as at this year’s conference we will be electing new officers.

Now, let’s talk about this year’s conference.

Prior to May 4, 2018, there are some significant things that need to be done to make this conference great, and YOU have the opportunity to be the catalysts. Here are a few ways which you can do just that:

  1. Lay Woman of the Year 2018.  Each church is asked to nominate a woman for Lay Woman of the Year and submit the nomination form to Judith Wilson, our second vice president, by March 22, 2018. The nomination form is available > here >;
  2. Reading for Renewal. Qualified readers are those women who have read five books from the regular R4R list and one from the Mission Study list. All information also is available on this website. The deadline for submitting the R4R reporting form per church is April 18, 2018. This year’s Mission Study was the Florida Seminole Indians.
  3. Annual Conference May 4-6, 2018. This is perhaps the most important way to ensure the conference is a success.
    You can register online or by snail mail. You'll find links to the registration forms toward the bottom of this page. Without you, the conference will be lonely, and the potential to increase our individual circles will be greatly diminished. This year’s theme is “Planting Seeds,” and we will discover, confirm, inform and demonstrate ways in which we all plant seeds for the kingdom of God. All that we do, all that we say, and all of who we are should be to glorify God. Come share, learn and explore the myriad possibilities we enjoy as daughters of the king.

This will be our 91st year hosting the conference for the Women of the Florida Conference. Our history is ever-changing and expanding. Every year adds a new layer and new women. Come, be a vital part of it all. We are because you are. Join us and allow us to join you. We need you to survive.

My prayer for all of us is that this year we will see God's promises manifested in our collective and individual lives.

God bless us, each and every one.

Happy 2018!

Patsy McDowell - President
