Florida Conference offers free 'Burnout and Self-Care Workshops'

December 29, 2020

The Florida Conference will be offering two "Burnout and Self-Care" online workshops, one for clergy and one for lay leaders, at the end of January. Florida Conference clergy who attend will earn one unit of professional ethics (boundary) training credit. Registration is required, but there is no cost to participate. The workshops will take place via Zoom video conference, and links will be emailed upon registration.

Rev. Dr. Tracy Dawson and Rev. Wendy Kidd of the Rocky Mountain Conference United Church of Christ Healthy Ministry Relationships Training Team will lead the interactive workshops. Dawson is a licensed attorney and was a trial court judge in Colorado for 37 years. Her article entitled "Clergy Burnout: Whose Problem Is It?" was featured recently in The Christian Century magazine (Nov. 18, 2020). Kidd is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Registered Traumatologist and a trained Spiritual Director.

The workshops will explore how to recognize the red flags of unhealthy ministry relationships and practice self-care so as to avoid burn-out. -> Register today -> | -> Download flyer ->
